About Me

I have had the privilege of sharing people’s journeys since 2008 when I began counselling. For me counselling is vocational, I feel passionately that everyone should be able to access counselling services of a high standard. I strive to be open, non-judgemental and empathic, ultimately allowing you to be who you want to be.

Counselling & psychotherapy is a confidential space to talk about issues that may cause you discomfort and interruption of your daily life. In working through issues, therapy will give you strength to carry on and live your life with more emotional freedom.

I work with most issues and will call you to discuss these initially before appointments. I have more expertise with childhood and adult abuse survivors, religious based issues, anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem and identity based issues.

You can expect to experience:

  • A safe, confidential space to explore your feelings and concerns.
  • Be listened to by a trained counsellor who will offer focus, challenge and clarity.
  • Be challenged about some of the unhelpful feelings and behaviours that may be hindering your growth.
  • Encouragement to make positive choices for yourself.

  Counselling Approach

I trained as an Integrative Counselling Therapist. This is when several distinct models of counselling and psychotherapy are used together. With experience and further training I have found comfort in working with other approaches also to include:

Person centred (Devised by Carl Rogers and also called “Client-Centred” or “Rogerian” counselling, this is based on the assumption that a client seeking help in the resolution of a problem they are experiencing, can enter into a relationship with a counsellor who is sufficiently accepting and permissive to allow the client to freely express any emotions and feelings).

Solution Focus & Brief Therapy (this promotes positive change rather than dwelling on past problems. Clients are encouraged to focus positively on what they do well and to set goals and work out how to achieve them. As little as 3 or 4 sessions may be beneficial).

Transpersonal (this describes any form of counselling or therapy which places emphasis on spirituality, human potential or heightened consciousness. It includes psychosynthesis).
